Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Designer Duds

I love shopping at thrift stores and I usually have good luck.  Recently I scored this Janie and Jack jacket for $5.  I would never buy anything new from Janie and Jack - way too pricey for something he's going to grow out of - but I'd say he looks pretty dapper in our photo shoot.

Strike, Spare, Turkey

Novali had a bowling party for her 12th birthday, and we drove over to Chicago to celebrate.  Cruz napped in the car on the ride, and woke up when we were in traffic, remarking that the trucks were stuck.  (because they were not moving).

Initially, he did not like the bowling alley.  He said everything was "too loud."  Which is was: the music, the guy on the microphone, the sound of balls and pins falling.

Once he watched Nini bowl a few times he wanted to try it and liked a 6 lb orange ball.  I was worried he would drop it on his feet but he did great.  Sam initially helped him, so Cruz's ball had a little speed.  But once he wanted to do everything himself, the ball rolled very slowly down the lane.

He enjoyed the pizza and the cake frosting, and took a nap on the way home.  All in all a great party!

Easter Weekend

The 4 of us drove up to Saginaw to hang out with Grandma & Grandpa C, and play with cousins: Valerie and Ayanna.  (Cruz calls her "Nonna")  Cruz had a lot of fun playing with different toys (particularly a Jack-in-the-box), listening to Laurie Berkner, and playing with the pets at Uncle Ed and Aunt Cyndi's house.  We had a great time and a Happy Easter!
